Digital Pt 100-Simulator
Model 4501

  • Simulation range-100 °C up to +500 °C
  • Resolution 0.1 °C
  • Calibration in accordanceto DIN EN 60751
  • Simulation of line resistance10 Ohm, 20 Ohm or 30 Ohm
  • Compact, easy to handle aluminium-housing

Application

Wherever temperatures are measured, temperatures must also be simulated. The Pt-simulator is suitable for a wide area of applications. It has a wide range of simulation, which is resolved in 0.1 deg. C steps and makes many assignments in chemistry-, measuring-, controlling-, medicine and household applications, food industry, vehicle construction, air- and space travel and power plants easy to solve. Often in the past several simulators had to be used alongside to achieve either resolution or the range of the relevant application. As an extra advantage to the user temperatures can be entered in degrees celsius. Additional extensive conversions and readings in tabulation sheets are no longer necessary.

Description

There are five precision decade switches in a sturdy metal housing. The desired temperature value is selected in four steps with a 0.1 degree celsius resolution in ranges from - 100 degree celsius to max. 500 degree celsius. According to DIN EN 60751 the precision resistors simulate the temperature values for the Pt 100 resistor. The simulated temperature value is called on the output plugs "R". If required, the line resistance can also be simulated in steps of 10, 20 and 30 Ohm. The celsius scale, displaced by 273,15 K opposite the absolute temperature stipulates that an additional switch-over of polarity is performed at negative celsius temperature values. The simulator is of a high ohmic at wrongly entered + or - signes. An unintentional misuse is practically impossible. The switches are implemented in a short-circuit control manner. The precision resistors in the 100 deg. decade will therefore be switched parallelly at the moment of switch-over, in all other decade steps there is no effect at switch-over. The used resistor material MANGANIN ® has a temperature coefficient smaller 10 ppm/K. This makes a consideration of the environmental temperature normally superfluous.

Pt 100-Simulator
Model 4503

  • 30 fixed points in a wide temperature range
  • Calibration toDIN EN 60751
  • Simulation of cable resistances up to 40 Ohm
  • Resistor material MANGANIN ® ,TK < 10 ppm/K
  • Compact easy to handle alu-housing

Application

An instrument that accurately simulates the Pt 100 resistance thermometer over a wide temperature range is very useful for the testing of industrial temperature measuring and control devices. Pt 100 simulators of the types 4503, 4503 S and 4504 are the answer to such requirements. A special advantage of these simulators is the direct reading of the 30 calibration points in centigrades (0 °C), whereby an trouble-some checking with tables is rendered unnecessary. The standard simulator type 4503 has 30 fixed calibration points within a range from -200 °C to 800 °C. Many years of experience have shown the need for the Pt 100 simulator type 4504 with 30 calibration points within a restricted range from -30 °C to 100 °C. Such a restricted temperature ranges is of great interest, e. g. for the food industry. In dairies, breweries, at ice-cream factories and similar plants the Pt 100 simulator type 4504 is the measuring instrument for daily use. Also this simulator is used in industries associated with household appliances, in power and heating plants an the like. Wherever measuring and control devices at individual temperature points require adjustment and testing the Pt 100 simulator type 4503 S should be employed. In these instruments the selector switch is programmed with 30 temperature calibration points as individually given by the user. The type 4503 covers a range from -200 °C to 850 °C.

Description

A compact, sturdy alu-housing, provided with 4 mm terminals in industrial standard. accommodates a high-class switch with wire-wound precision resistors of MANGANIN ® . By way of this selctor switch 30 fixed temperature values according to DIN EN 60751 (specification for the resistance thermo-meter Pt 100) are simulated. The simulated resistor value which corresponds to the selected temperature will be picked up at the output terminals "R sim ". Another three terminal sockets serve to simulate connecting cable resistances between 0 and 40 Ohm. The selector switch of type 4503 S is programmed with 30 temperature calibration points as individually given by the customer within a range from -200 °C to +850 °C. The resistance material MANGANIN ® used in the instrument has a temperature coefficient of < 10 ppm. Therefore the ambient temperature needs not to be taken into account.

Model 4506 S

Available with DKD Certificate if required

  • 24 set temperature values
  • Calibration perDIN EN 60751
  • Resistor material:ZERANIN ® , temperature coefficient =2 ppm/K
  • Pt 100, Pt 500, Pt 1000

Application

The precision Pt 100 simulator is used wherever measuring instruments or controlling systems have to be tested or calibrated with great precision. The standard design, type 4506, simulates 24 set temperature values. Totally different temperature ranges are required in the case of special applications, such as in the food industry, the medical science etc. Type 4506 S is recommended for these applications and can be fitted with 24 temperature values according to customer specifications.

Description

The unit houses a high-quality switch with precision wire-wound resistors made of ZERANIN®. It is installed in a handy and rugged metal casing (with DIN sockets). 24 set temperature values are simulated using the selector switch in accordance with DIN EN 6075 standard values for resistance thermometers (Pt 100). The simulated resistance value, corresponding in its value to the individually set temperature, is picked up at the "R Sim "output socket. The four-wire connecting system permits the connection of a separate current and voltage path. Supply lead resistance is therefore eliminated and does not appear in the measurements.

In a little compact, sturdy plastic housing is put a high-class switch with wire-wound precision resistors of MANGANIN®. Using this selector switch 11 fixed temperature values according to DIN EN 60751 of the resistance thermometer Pt100 are simulated. The simulated resistance value, which corresponds to the selected temperature, will be picked up at the terminals "Rsim". Two other terminal sockets serve to simulate connecting cable resistances between 10 and 20 Ohm.The selector switch of types 4511 and 4512 is programmed with 11 temperature values as individually given by the customer. Within a range from -200C ... +850 °C each temperature value can be selected. The resistance material MANGANIN® used in the instrument has a temperature coefficient of < 10 ppm. Therefore the ambient temperature needs not be taken into account.

Control manually or remotely via RS232/IEEE488

Application
The precision RTD simulator is used where measuring instruments or controlling means with high
precision must be examined or calibrated. The simulator is suitable for calibration laboratory and
service centers which need a computer-controlled resistance decade for the automation of calibration
procedures. All standard platinum and nickel RTD can be simulated with very high accuracy according
to scales ITS 90 or IPTS 68.Temperature regulators, transducers etc. often supply a pulsed signal
current in order to reduce the self-heating of the RTD. Devices with electronic simulation of RTD are
therefore inclined to swinging and do not function with this application. Here, the advantage of the RTD
simulator model 4530 becomes obvious as it can simulate the resistance sensor by real Ohm simulation
without problems. Of course the RTD simulator can be used also as classical resistance decade.

Description
The equipment comes in a sturdy aluminium housing. The keyboard, display and connectors are on the
front plate. It makes 2-, 3- and 4-wire connection possible.
Pt 100, Pt 200, Pt 500, Pt 1000, Ni 100 or Ni 1000 can be selected by simple menu navigation. In addition,
the selection of temperature scales ITS90 (DIN EN 60751) or IPTS 68 (DIN 43760) and two curves
a = 0.385
(European) or
a = 0.392 (US) is possible. After entry of the characteristic values the input of the temperature
levels can be made very simply by the numeric keyboard. Presently set values are indicated in the display.
Relays with low thermovoltage and stable foil resistances with very small temperature coefficients are the
heart of the simulator. The simulator is supplied by an internal accu or an external power supply.
