Application
The DIGISTANT ® type 4420 universal calibrator, built to use in the
field, is ideal for checking and calibrating temperature measurement and
control devices, and documenting the measurement results. The versatile
functions of this portable unit allow to be used on-site or at a fixed
location, on the test floor or in the laboratory.The unit allows the measurement
of voltages, currents, temperatures and resistances.Simultaneous transmission
and measurement allow, for example, controllers to be checked precisely.The
automatic ramp function is used for controlling processes. The universal
calibrator measures and simulates 8 types of thermocouples and Pt 100.
In addition, resistances can be measured from 10 mOhm to 2 kOhm and simulated
from 10 Ohm to 2 kOhm. The reference junction temperature can be entered
manually via keypad; if required, however, an automatic reference to an
internal or external point is also possible. Basic values and the corresponding
delta-values can be stored with 10 freely programmable memories each for
voltage, current, temperature and resistance. Relevant values can be added
and subtracted by operating the delta + and delta - keys respectively.

Application
The precision calibration unit combines high accuracy, low drift, low
noise and superior long-term stability with multiple functionality and
simple operation.Ramps, delta + / delta -, and multiple setpoint storage
make the operation of the device easier for the user. For that reason
the application possibilities are many:
- Testing current and voltage meters Precise testing of thermocouple
temperature measuring instruments
- Calibration of controllers, sensors, detection devices and other devices
used in process control
- Open-loop process control with the aid of integrated ramp functions.
The DIGISTANT ® type 4462 can be used both as a stand-alone
table-top device, as well as in automatic, computer-assisted manufacturing
and testing systems.
Description
It is possible to set currents of ± 200 nA ... ± 52 mA,
voltages of ± 1µV ... ± 30 V and, optionally, temperature
setpoint values of 14 thermocouple types.The output value is fed back
via the sensor line to eliminate voltage drops across the measuring leads.The
device has an adjustable current/voltage limitation. An external voltage
divider of 1 up to 1:1000 can be considered internally.With the thermovoltage
sourcing option you can enter °C, °F and K, the temperature scales
ITS 90 or IPTS 68 and the comparison point mode constant/external. Furthermore,
when sourcing thermocouples a calibrated external comparison point can
be used, whereby the data for calibration in the device can be taken into
consideration.Indication of the source value is carried out in large 12
mm figures on an illuminated graphics-LCD.The device can be operated both
via the keyboard as well as the interface.

The NEW Krohn-Hite Model 523 Precision DC Source is a highly
stable and repeatable dc voltage source and dc current source providing
N.I.S.T. traceable voltages and currents for use in production, calibration
labs, QA and QC departments, design labs, or any place where an accurate
voltage and current source is needed.
Using Krohn-Hite's state-of-the-art reference, the 523 provides accurate
and stable voltages from ±10nVdc to ±110.99999Vdc to within
±4ppm for 90 days (±8ppm for 1 year), and precise currents
from ±10nA to ±110.99999mA to within ±8ppm for 90
days (±16ppm for 1 year). It is an extremely quiet source with
<7µVrms of noise measured over a 10Hz to 100kHz bandwidth (<2µVrms
0.1Hz to 10Hz).
The 523 features a user friendly 7½ digit display and a membrane
keyboard entry of all settings. Output settings can be modified using
a plus/minus delta function, multiply/divide function and curser control
keys that allow placing a curser on any digit to increment or decrement
its value. Output 2-wire, 4-wire and chassis grounding are accomplished
with one keystroke or over the GPIB interface bus.
